Historic Tours of Flagler College celebrates the architectural heritage of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon, a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1888 by railroad magnate Henry M. Flagler, the Ponce is considered one of the finest examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture and was once among the most exclusive resorts of its time.

Tour Details:

  • Departure Location: Tours depart daily from the main lobby (Rotunda) of the College at 74 King Street.

  • Tour Availability: As Flagler College is an active campus, tours are subject to cancellations. Please check our website for up-to-date ticket availability.

    • Tour Highlights:

      • Courtyard: Begin with an exploration of the courtyard, learning about the hotel s Spanish Renaissance architecture and the innovative techniques used in its construction.

      • Grand Lobby: Look up into the 68-foot domed ceiling supported by eight ornate oak caryatids, each hand-carved with unique details.

      • Dining Room: Marvel at 79 Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass windows that cast light onto the hand-painted murals adorning the walls and ceiling.

      • Flagler Room: Formerly the Women’s Grand Parlor, this room houses Austrian crystal chandeliers, a unique onyx clock, original furniture, and personal mementos from Henry Flagler’s family. (Please note that the Flagler Room is currently closed due to renovations.)
